Shropshire Domestic Abuse Service (SDAS) provides accommodation and outreach support to families and individuals across the County of Shropshire. Due to funding from the DCLG we are recruiting for a new post to support families in the Telford and Wrekin area.
The role will involve providing support for women, men and their children from the Polish community who are affected by domestic violence and abuse, who are over the age of 16 and live within the County. The post holder will need to develop links within the community to breakdown any barriers to access support. Candidates for this post should have a good understanding of Eastern European communities. An understanding of the Polish language would also be desirable for this position.
Candidates for this role should have previous experience of working in a front line service with individuals in crisis situations, and have an understanding of domestic violence and abuse issues. Candidates should also have excellent communication skills and must have their own vehicle due to the need to travel countywide.
This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and detailed references.
